Everyone needs a classic homemade cranberry puree’ recipe on hand. Simple ingredients and traditional cooking methods made this easy to make and even better, no refined sugar is included. This recipe calls for pure organic Maple Sugar which is ground, unrefined and tastes like absolute heaven. Goes perfectly with your annual Thanksgiving meal and brightens any chicken roast.
5 minute prep/15 minute cook time
1 cup maple sugar
1 cup filtered water
4 cups cranberries
Start by washing your cranberries and discarding any that are damaged or brown. Pour the water and maple sugar into a small saucepan and bring to a boil, stir the sugar to dissolve. Next, add the cranberries to the boiling water and then lower the heat. Simmer for 10 minutes letting the cranberries pop and stirring gently.
Remove from the small sauce pan and let cool. Place in the refrigerator to chill and thicken. When ready to serve, garnish with fresh orange zest, cinnamon or nutmeg.
